On November 21, the Center for Community and Ethnic Media at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism organized a post-election panel on legal protections and rights of immigrants.

The Center’s co-director, Karen Pennar, moderated the panel, which included Nisha Agarwal, commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs; Camille J. Mackler, director of Legal Initiatives at the New York Immigration Coalition; Alina Das, co-director at the Immigrant Rights Clinic at the New York University School of Law; Alizabeth Newman, director of the Community Legal Resource Network at the CUNY School of Law; and Jojo Annobil, executive director at the Immigrant Justice Corps. A large number of journalists from different ethnic and community media outlets attended the event and got a chance to ask questions important to their respective audiences.
