First Training in Queens!
The Center for Community and Ethnic Media at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism is starting trainings in other boroughs, in order to offer community and ethnic media journalists the chance to hone their skills in classrooms close to their homes and offices.
CCEM is starting this initiative in Queens, where the first training will be held on Friday, February 17 at 2:00-5:00pm.
About the training
CCEM’s first training in Queens will be The Super Researcher workshop with Barbara Gray, Chief Librarian at CUNY J-School and the former Director of News Research at The New York Times. Ms. Gray will guide you through the most accessible techniques for investigating people, finding information and verifying facts. The Super Researcher workshop will cover the following topics:
About the instructor:
Barbara Gray is the chief librarian at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. She came to the CUNY J-School from The New York Times, where she was director of news research. Previously, she was managing coordinator of the information center at Fox News Channel.
Gray is an Adelphi University graduate and holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Long Island University’s Palmer School.
Courses for the CCEM Digital Media Toolkit have been developed by CUNY J+, the professional development program of the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, and are funded by the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
