In this one-day workshop you’ll learn techniques for writing, interviewing, sound gathering and field reporting to produce engaging, memorable audio stories. You’ll also learn techniques for finding and perfecting your “broadcast voice.” Our easy-to-use tips will help you more effectively communicate and engage with listeners. Participants will have the opportunity to spend time behind the mic and walk away with their very own podcast.

NOTE: Participants are asked to come to class with a short, first-person story that clearly expresses their opinion on a specific issue. The commentary doesn’t have to be “objective,” but should take into consideration opposing points of view. Commentaries should be 1-2 minutes long (about one page single spaced). These pieces will be used to create the podcast.
