The Center for Community and Ethnic Media at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism organized a Q&A with NYC Health + Hospitals president Dr. Mitchell Katz as part of its Newsmakers Series. NY1 political anchor Errol Louis, who also teaches at the Newamrk J-School, hosted the Q&A. He was joined by Martine Granby (BRIC TV) and Pedro Frisneda (El Diario) on the panel.

A sizable number of journalists attended the event. During the hour-long session, Dr. Katz discussed the Health + Hospitals’ budgetary challenges, the impact the Department of Homeland Security’s proposal to include health care benefits in determining the admissibility of immigrants seeking residence in the United States, and his plans to expand the primary care provision.
