The Center for Community and Ethnic Media at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism organized a Q&A with the New York City Department of Social Services Commissioner Steven Banks. The Q&A session was part of CCEM’s Newsmakers Series, an on-the-record conversation between city leaders and the city’s community and ethnic media, which serves as a bridge between mainstream society and immigrant communities and communities of color.

Errol Louis, NY1 News political anchor and director of urban reporting at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, was joined by Rong Xiaoqing, from Sing Tao Daily, and Edwin Martinez, from El Diario/La Prensa, on a panel that asked the commissioner questions related to the workings of his department and homelessness in the city.
