The Center for Community and Ethnic Media held the 14th Ippies Awards on June 2 at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Master of Ceremonies Randall Pinkston joined CUNY J-School Professor Tom Robbins in announcing the winners. The event, attended by about 140 journalists, academics, city representatives and others, was addressed by NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer, CUNY J-School Dean Sarah Bartlett, Chief of Staff of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) Sung E Bai and CCEM’s Co-directors Jehangir Khattak and Karen Pennar.
